My Students

I work with students who are eager to learn and grow with each other. They are attending school in a new environment with many challenges. Procedures and day to day routines are all different. My students are resilient and want to be here. I work in a Title I school where almost every student receives free and reduced lunch. A lot of them have working parents that strive to care for them but they still come to school with anxious feelings.

My Project

We have put together on calm down kits for our regular classroom teachers, however, our related arts and special services teachers could also use these. Our students are going through so much right now that a simple thing to hold or a coloring page can help them work through their thoughts and feelings. Many of our kids are experiencing new emotions as we navigate through a pandemic. School is not the same for teachers or students. These items will give my teachers the tools they need to support their students.
