This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is composed low-income second language learners, recent arrivals and resource students. They are eager, compassionate, and determine to learn their second language. My students are caring and empathetic of each other as I deliver circle time in the mornings.
My students need resources that will target their needs in this time of crisis.
I need to provide effective practices to my students and make it interactive as well as immense discussion throughout our virtual lessons.
They need me to be able to display live content material as well as model lessons in reading, math, and oral skills.
Participation is important for my English learners as they practice their oral skills, read live text as we track together, and be able to see their peers work displayed, discuss strategies and ideas as I write them down live. In these times my EL's need support that allows them to have the content area to be displayed and they can interact with.
My Project
Technology knowledge is currently a requirement to succeed academically and professionally. We need to continue to prepare our students to be well-versed in technology and its use and application in person or virtual.
As we enter into a hybrid classroom, technology is essential.
The use of the writing tablets will open a world of creativity to my students as they engage in and explore their passions in writing, drawing and painting. I will encourage hands-on experimentation, foster collaboration and build solid critical thinking and problem solving skills.
I will be able to able to tailer my teaching to the unique needs of each student by writing, sketching, and annotating on the screen. I will foster interaction and stimulate deeper learning. I will be able to easily explain concepts visually, encourage collaboration, support in-person and virtual students.
