My students are energetic and creative. They love coming to music class twice a week. We're a Title 1 school with many musical opportunities. We have an after-school choir, an after-school world music drumming ensemble, band and orchestra. Almost every grade level performs in a special concert once a year.
Music gives my students a creative outlet during their day.
They are often in the driver's seat of their class. The students decide where to take a lesson and how to improve their musicianship as individuals or as a class. They have opportunities to try new things in a supportive atmosphere and can refine their musicianship in areas they feel they are strong.
My Project
My students love learning about music. They love to sing, dance, play instruments, and create their own music. A subscription to Music Express Magazine would give me an incredible resource of new music and ideas to share with my students.
Music Express Magazine will help me bring vibrant, engaging lessons to my 360 students.Over the course of the school year we will receive six different magazine packages with a teacher's manual, thirty student magazines, and access to online video and audio.
We will have new, relevant music, theory-based lessons that correlate with National Standards. These lessons are interactive, cross-curricular and multicultural. I know Music Express will enrich my students' knowledge of and experiences in music. I want to bring this exciting curriculum to my classroom!
