This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My awesome students range from lower to middle class families. Over 60% of my students are minorities where many come from single household incomes. Most students receive free lunch, our school also provides weekend meals for families in need.
My students are hard working and eager to learn.
Unfortunately, many do not have funds to obtain school supplies that would help them in the classroom. Although, I try to meet the needs of my students by giving out supplies, it is never enough. Any help would be much appreciated!
My Project
In my humanities class students are asked questions daily. Many are able to express their feelings vocally while others keep to themselves and stay quiet. With white boards, every student has the chance to express their feeling visually! My students love to use the white boards, unfortunately, I have to share with other teachers and there are times I have to go without, since I do not have any of my own.
If I had my own class set of white boards I would use them on a regular basis.
We would use them for scaffolding, discussions, and test reviews. Students get so excited when they see the whiteboards on their desks, they know its about to get fun, educational, and interactive!
