This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
One of life's most pleasurable and deeply-meaningful experiences is holding a paintbrush and painting away into a world of limitless imagination. I wish that for my students. I want to help them discover and unleash their hidden talents through creative works of art for all to appreciate and admire.
My students are wonderful, artistic, and bright 1st graders.
They are enthusiastic about everything & anything around them. However, there is so much more to see and discover, past the limits and disparities that hold them back in their environment. I always imagine how wonderful it would be to teach them art using proper materials, similar to what professionals use! This school is a Title 1 school, receiving 100% free lunch based on lower family income levels. Despite all the budget cuts in a struggling school district, we have managed to raise our API score to 860, proving that education is our priority. We are driven and passionate about learning, exploring, and enriching our lives through education and art! Please help our students realize their potentials to the fullest! We hope you agree that learning should be deemed a right...not a privilege; and no child should be deprived of opportunities such as this.

My Project
The watercolor and tempura paint will enable students to learn about primary and secondary colors. They will be excited to see how mixing primary colors produce secondary colors. Paint brushes and art paper will give them an opportunity to explore their creativity and their unique gifts in art. Their minds will be stimulated outside the classroom setting, using materials other than crayons and color pencils. Access to expanded resources and tools will open up many more avenues for creativity and enhance the students' perceptions of the world around them.

Some may struggle with reading and writing, but through art I hope they will find confidence in school and ultimately within themselves. I want them to have an outlet for creativity and develop a never-ending passion for Art!
