My Project
My students crave a calm space in order to explore their artistic, and emotional lives. By providing each of them with personal blank journals they can express themselves however they want. The journal will create a calm world to step into and provide a break from the school day. I have discovered that students like to both write and draw about their lives. Sometimes words cannot say what a simple sketch or emoji can. Middle school is not an easy time. Students are experiencing both emotional and physical changes.
Each student will uniquely paint and write in their journal about their history, dreams, and goals in a serene environment.
Besides the journals, students need fresh art supplies. Acrylic paint is user friendly and dries easily. In addition, we need a variety of different styles and kinds of brushes. The brush that a student gravitates towards is different for each of them.
