Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 5th grade Art Club provides students with opportunities to explore creativity, self-expression, and identity through hands-on art projects. One of our upcoming projects invites students to use iron-on patches to create personalized fabric art that represents their individuality and imagination.
Students will select from a wide assortment of chenille letters, iron-on numbers, and themed patches including flowers, hearts, smiley faces, cartoon characters, stars, and more.
They will arrange these elements in their own unique designs to reflect who they are, what they enjoy, and how they see themselves. This project is not just about decoration—it’s about telling a story through art.
To make this vision possible, we are requesting materials that will allow each student to fully participate. This includes iron-on patch kits in a variety of themes and colors, as well as mini heat presses so they can apply their designs safely and independently with adult supervision.
Through this project, students will strengthen their creative thinking, fine motor skills, and confidence. They will also gain a deeper sense of ownership and pride in their work as they collaborate and learn from one another. Your support will help bring this colorful, meaningful project to life and give our young artists the tools they need to express themselves with joy and purpose.
