This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This iPad would provide my students access to the internet, allowing students to conduct online research for assignments and projects. The iPad can be used for browsers, search engines, and educational websites to gather information. The fact that and iPad is small will allow me to move quickly around the school building giving students immediate access to many actives by just scanning a QR code. One of the lesson I plan to use with the students is Xello. Xello is a curriculum used to help student gain knowledge about college, trades, military, and career options. Xello is based on the students personality, skills, and knowledge. Having the small iPad in the cafeteria or in the common areas at lunch would allow me to sit and hold small groups or have individual conversations in a comfortable untraditional environment. I think the student would like for me to work with them outside of the classroom environment. They would be able to complete their Xello assignments with this iPad. The usage of this iPad would also be an excellent time to teach and remind students about responsible internet use and digital citizenship. iPads can be a platform for discussing online safety, etiquette, and responsible online behavior.
