Exploring Virtual Reality!

My Students

I teach 97 students in a suburban setting in Central Virginia that houses approximately 1,000 students. Approximately 25% of the student population at our school receives free and reduced lunch.

My students are innovative thinkers whose potential is just waiting to be realized.

My goal this year is to give my students the freedom to learn in a comfortable environment that facilitates collaboration among my students and affords them the ability to have more choice in how and/or where they learn.

My Project

Last year, we had the distinct pleasure of being one of the first classrooms in our district to implement the use of Virtual Reality head sets with a set of 10 viewers from Best Buy Education and Google Expeditions! We are looking to expand this year with 5 more viewers to get us closer to having a classroom set.

Students have loved getting an up close view of the world around them and are always asking when we will embark on our next adventure!

Having 10 viewers is definitely better than none, but with an additional set of 5 we would have the opportunity for more students to experience Google Expedition lessons simultaneously.

We hope you will continue to support us in our endeavor to bring these extraordinary devices to our classrooms so that more students and classrooms can have memorable experiences around the globe without ever leaving their chairs.
