My Project

Help me give my students "Who Was" biography books for a unit on important people who have influenced the world. I have a wonderful group of diverse third-grade students. They love to read, write, calculate, create, and problem-solve, but most importantly, my students just want to be loved and accepted.

Given the right tools, these eager-to-learn students will become amazing lifelong learners.

The "Who Was" nonfiction biography books I am requesting will provide a variety of people with which to choose for our biography unit. Pro athletes, scientists, people from the past and present, people of color, women, and many others... I made sure to select a wide variety so that students can select someone who looks "more like them" or have something they are able to connect with.

These books will be used year after year, class after class, and be a great resource for my eager-to-learn third graders.
