This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Regulating emotions is important for our youngest learners. Creating a space where students can go and calm their bodies is greatly needed in all classrooms. The Sensory mats will be used when children need to take small breaks from large group activities or have just a need to calm down. Students will benefit from a space that incorporates the appropriate tools that can assist the students in learning.
Exploring our world through a variety of different ways is important for the growth of students.
My students will often become agitated, as they have not learned the tools to self regulate. I have seen how incorporating sensory breaks can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
