Help me give my students the opportunity to learn about the water cycle firsthand by using a countertop distillation setup.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. McElfresh's classroom raised $616

My Students
My students thoroughly enjoy learning Science by "playing" with hands-on activities so I try and provide as many as possible in my classroom.
My students are a highly inquisitive and motivated group of 9th and 12th-grade Science students.
We are a comprehensive public charter high school located in Southern California. They are always motivated by real-world applications of what we are learning and I try as best I can to provide them with the opportunities to learn from hands-on activities.
My Project
In Earth Science the Water Cycle is a major topic that I think can be made more understandable if my students can mimic the real world steps by distilling water in the classroom. I think that this countertop distillation setup will allow my students to really develop a deeper understanding of the natural process.
Students need to question, hypothesis, experiment, test, observe and analyze using real materials in order to comprehend what they are learning.
I envision my students using this setup to design experiments based on the water cycle.
