Exploring the Seasons, Trees, Pumpkins, Pets, Gardens, and Emotions

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have students from all over the world, help me to give them opportunities that can help them to build new skills.
We dedicate a couple of weeks talking about the different seasons throughout the year, learn about trees, (chika chika boom toy to practice letters and sing the song) how they grow, how to take care of them, how are they helping us, etc.
Books are a wonderful resource to have in the classroom. We dedicate a week to learn about pumpkins, the life cycle, how to plant a seed, take care of it, and with the books, stories, they students are curious and explore more about pumpkins, plants, garden, etc. Their little hands need time and activities that encourage their ability to improve their motor skills, having enough toys for a classroom of 20 gives them an equal opportunity (waffle blocks, turn and learn manipulatives, flower garden building set)
We have a Unit about Pets, they learn how to take care of them, play vet, talk about their pets, etc.
One of our favorite characters is The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we get real ones to take care of them, they learn the life cycle.
Our school serves Title 1 students. Students are more engaged and enthusiastic when they are learning something new every week, I had students in the past that never seen a pumpkin before, learning about what is around them is very exciting. I am thankful for your support.
