Help me give my students access to a wide range of diverse literature!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Stein's classroom raised $524
This project is fully funded
My Project
My students come from a wide array of backgrounds, cultures, and home life. The books in their classroom should speak to them, and they should be able to read about characters that are like them. By having a wide range of books from authors of different backgrounds, race, ethnicity, orientation, my students will have the opportunity to find themselves in literature. Not only this, but they will be able to learn more about the people around them in the world, with the hopes of fostering and cultivating respect, empathy and love for all.
Students deserve to have literature at their disposal at all times.
They deserve to have a choice in what they read so that reading does not become simply an avenue for getting grades. Help me to cultivate a love for reading for my 7th grade students!
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
