My students need a comfortable carpet to explore through reading. There are many days that Social Studies gets pushed aside and there is no time to explore the country.
When I think back to my favorite classroom, I can a room full of color and images that stay in my mind. This is how I want my students to feel when think back to our room. I am a visual learner and images tend to stay in my mind. This carpet can imprint a image of our country.
My students live in a low income area with very little nice things.
The are 2nd graders and so sweet. We love to have group discussion and to share new knowledge. My students love to help others and they care about each other. We call each other our family and we show each other respect.
My Project
My students will use the carpet for small groups, independent reading, and whole group. This will be an area where we can explore the country as well as sit in an area together. The students enjoy getting away from their desk and sitting together in a new scene of the classroom.
My project will allow us to become familiar with the country as well have time together on the carpet for discussions and mini lessons.
This will improve the students' learning and listening skills by being close together with little distractions.
