Help me give my students the ability to explore engineering and building. All of these materials will allow students to explore engineering design, their imagination, and STEM.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a STEM elective class to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. My school is a Title I school where 100% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. My students are curious about the willingness to learn about STEM and technology, which can be difficult to come by for them or are not exposed to due to their family's socioeconomic status.
My Project
My students are very hands-on learners. Through building, they will be able to explore STEM, Engineering Design. These materials will allow students to have tactile building experience in design to create.
Students will be using the materials to design, build and create elaborate engineering structures to meet challenges in class.
I encourage and teach my students to use critical thinking and collaboration; these materials will help to develop both of these skills. Students will work in groups to develop team-building and cooperative learning and team challenges along with exploring STEM.
