My Students

My first grade​ integrated class is a place of challenge, discovery, and growth filled with many different opportunities for all students. They are creating a foundation for their future learning and education. My students face the challenges of living in a high poverty area, yet they come to school eager to learn every day.

The students grow and learn in different ways with different supports.

They bring to the class their wonderfully diverse backgrounds and an eagerness to learn English as many of them are ELL students, and students with special needs. All my 1st grade students have unique needs and talents that help them grow as life-long learners.

My Project

My students are inquisitive and eager to learn and science is such a great way to engage them. The best way to learn in science is through hands-on activities. However they need the right tools to help them, especially when they need guidance with movement and seeing things at this age.

These tools will help my students explore science in a child-friendly, hands-on way.

They will be able to enlarge things to see them with magnifying glasses. They will be able to move them with their Martian fingers, which will help with fine movements. The lights will help them see their subjects more clearly, and the notepads will help them record their observations.
