My Students

Every morning, I open my laptop, and I know that my day will be filled with 22 amazing kindergartners. These students have an extreme amount of love for learning that I have never seen before!

My school is located in the heart of a great neighborhood in Philadelphia.

We are a public school that lacks the funding and the necessary resources, but we make do with what we do have.

My students have the desire to acquire knowledge and be engaged in the learning process. My goal is to support this intrinsic motivation with hands-on opportunities.

My Project

My students love to listen to stories, but they always hear the same stories. I want my students to be exposed to as many books as they can. I want them to hear about stories about cultures that are different than their own, families that are different than their own, opinions that are different than their own.

These books will help to diversify my students' knowledge and perspectives.

These books will challenge my students' thinking. These books will help my students think critically and question their own thinking. Above all, these books will hopefully help my students learn about the world around them.
