Exploring our Musical Voices with Instrument Play and Puppets
Help me give my students an instrument stand, puppets, a puppet storage tree, and more items for the opportunity to explore our musical voices in a variety of ways.
Music is an amazing tool that brings people together. During the epidemic, students lost out on the opportunity to experience and create music with others. Upon the return to school, many were unsure of the variety of ways they can use their voices to create music in individual and in group activities.
I will use the puppets to relate to my students and then tie those into music concepts.
Materials like xylophones and puppets give a visual aid to students still having a hard time communicating with their teachers and/or classmates. Another way students can demonstrate their musical voices is by writing music on dry erase boards and then sharing their composition. The puppet tree and bins will be used to organize these resources.
When a group of students creates music together everyone gets to feel successful. Self-confidence is key in helping students grow in life and in academia. These requested resources will span the entire elementary school, thus improving the overall performance of the student population.
