My students need open ended materials to engage their creativity. Children will have a variety of materials to choose from like Watercolors, Kinetic Sand and Window Blocks as they explore and create.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Pre-Kindergarten at a small, neighborhood school in Central Florida. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. We are growing our Pre-K program and will be starting our second year.
The majority of our students start Pre-K speaking only Spanish and need an authentic experience to foster a love of learning and an introduction to vocabulary in these subject areas.
Our students are like little sponges as they are ready and willing to participate in these new activities!
My Project
Pre-K children come to school and learn by doing. The creative process is encouraged through art, blocks, and sensory activities.
Process art gives children a space to express themselves, engage in sensory activities and to have fun!
By painting with watercolors, finger paints, and Kwik Stix, children will have the opportunity to create their very own masterpieces. They will explore in the block area with Window Blocks. Kinetic Sand and Macaroni pieces will be added to the sensory bin as children explore in different sensory mediums and build their fine motor skills.
Children learn best through hands on activities as connections are made and self esteem develops.
