This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have great investigative brains. They love exploring and discovering, but don't truly like sitting, taking notes, and writing examples! In order to help these students succeed in math, I would like them to get the resources that will help them learn in a more hands-on manner.

I teach in a very high needs school in a low income neighborhood.

100% of our school are on free lunch and many do not have stable homes. For many students, coming to school is the safest place to be. My classroom is not just a place for academic growth, but personal growth as well. My goal is for these students to leave this year with a better sense of who they are and who they can become.

My Project

The students will have the opportunity to learn in a kinesthetic way. My students love doing hands on projects and we don't have the resources necessary to make that type of learning possible. I would like to get these manipulatives to help implement the Daily Three math strategy which will allow students to self explore the math world and have fun at the same time.

It will not only help the students learn the math concepts they need, but it will raise their desire to learn.

My students LOVE having hands-on experiences. The more project based a lesson, the more they get out of it. I am truly inspired each time I see them working hands-on and wish I could give them more opportunities to do it. With these manipulatives, I hope to give them that chance.
