What I love about my students is that they fight and deal with adversity every day and still come to school to try to better themselves and their families. Their drive and determination inspires me to be the best influencer in their lives.
My students are in elementary school and are building the foundations to become lifelong learners.
My school has become a safe haven for students. Outside of school, students are hit with the hardships of poverty. But inside, they know they are loved and cared for. My school is an escape from fear and judgment where students let their creativity guide them as they soar through adventures in learning
Making sure that my students do not become just another statistic, but active, intelligent members of the society, is my life’s mission. I love them. Shining a little light in a place that may seem dark is amazing!
My Project
Students learn best through modeling and exposure, so when they face new emotions and aren't sure how to deal with them, having books on hand to support these new feelings will give our students the tools they need to thrive.
Through the use of the Little Spot books and plushies, students will learn to identify and manage their feelings.
With a focus on the whole child, the Little Spot books will be used teach our students how to self-regulate their emotions in order to allow them to learn at high levels.
