Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Through the years, I have learned the importance of creating units that integrate core subject areas rather than teaching them separately. This allows my students to experience what may be the most interesting part of their day.

My classroom consists of 30+ kindergarten students with various learning styles and abilities.

All of my students are extremely curious, energetic, active, and excited to explore. Each day they love working together in cooperative groups and learning from one another. All of the students in our school enjoy challenges and are eager to learn. My colleagues and I work together on a daily basis to create a learning environment that keeps our students engaged and constantly asking questions.The materials I am requesting will be used to integrate language arts and science throughout the school year. It is crucial to begin introducing students to STEM concepts that lead to the development of finding answers to their own questions at a very early age. My students need an Early STEM Specimen Viewers, Marble Race Track Set, Magnetic Tiles, Bulk Dominoes Kit, Ocean Playset Bundle, Primary Science Lab Activity, Tikjoyful Building Blocks, Stem Master Building Toys, and STEM Building Blocks. The materials I have requested will be used during whole group, small group, and independent center time.

Students will learn how to formulate explanations based on evidence that was gathered while working with the specific materials. For instance, students will use cars and ramps to discuss force and motion, use blocks to engineer a sturdy home, and construct a boat that will hold specific amounts of weight to then develop questions and independently find answers.
