My high school Spanish students need a document camera.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Thomas's classroom raised $910
This project is fully funded
Please join me in my effort of inspiring a love of reading, in Spanish, in my students. I am a high school Spanish teacher in a high needs New York City school.
I've learned that reading children's books in a second language is an excellent way to engage students in the language as well as boost their confidence in communicating. Our school textbooks are outdated and do not offer very rich reading selections.
My idea is to use children's books the same way a grade school teacher would, in order to teach basic vocabulary and correct use of verbs. In order to do this most efficiently, a document camera would help us immensely. Class sets of any kind of book are so expensive, and would only be used once or twice a year, but with a document camera we would be able to display a book for all students to see and read along.
Your help would help me realize my goals, and give my students the enriching experience that they deserve.
