My Project
My classroom has a wide variety of children coming from a range of different cultures, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and abilities. I want my students to be able to create, play, and listen to read-a-louds about diversity that we could all relate to or learn more about.
Students deserve to see themselves reflected in the learning materials around them.
I try to do my best to teach with a multicultural approach, however, many of our classroom materials do not do justice to the diversity of my students. I am asking for funding to change this so that every child can see literature, make crafts, and have play materials that reflect them and the differences/similarities of each other. Having this project funded will allow for a richer learning environment when learning about the diverse world around us.
