Exploring Careers in STEM with Beats By Dre and Ever-FI

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Minority populations are very under represented in the STEM fields. One major reason for this is minority youth often aren't exposed to STEM careers until adulthood. I firmly believe this under representation can be reduced if they are aware of STEM careers earlier in life. Therefore, I would like two pairs of Beats by Dre headphones to provide them flexibility in navigating Everfi's STEM Career Exploration using their android or apple phones. Ever-Fi provides free online courses to students in grades K-12. In this course students explore STEM careers connected to their interests and aptitudes while practicing STEM concepts that are key for career readiness. The course consist of eight different units. The first unit is a questionnaire which asses learner interest. The remaining courses focus on specific careers in the STEM field.The course consist of the following units 1. Learner Assessment 2. Home of the Future 3. Perfect Playlist 4. Designing the Ultimate Prototype. 5. Data Champions.6. Medical Machines 7. Game Development Studio 8. Transportation Central Once students complete the courses they can access the supplemental material which reinforces what they have learned. The Beats headphones will allow students to work through their course on their cell phones whether they have apple or android. Students will have access to these headphones(and others) on a rotating basis using a sign out/ sign in sheet as needed. I've used less expensive headphones(wired, air pods) but they are easily damaged, destroyed, or lost by students. It's my hope using these more expensive, durable headphones on a rotating basis would provide greater flexibility for students as they work through the course.
