Exploring Alternative Energy for a Better Tomorrow!
Help me give my students on the Green Team 8 Solar Rovers and Windmill Generators so they can explore how alternative forms of energy will help save our planet!
I am an elementary science/STEM teacher. The majority of my students are in 4th grade, but I also work with small groups of students across grades K-5.
My students are inquisitive, hardworking, and creative!
They love hands-on activities as well as completing interactive digital activities that support and their learning. They also love to learn more about a topic even after we have finished the unit.
My Project
These materials will help our school's Green Team learn about how alternative/renewable forms of energy can be used to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that are contributing to global warming. The team will research and discover how these renewable forms of energy such as wind and solar power work as well as neighborhoods that would benefit the most from alternative forms of energy. They will take everything they've learned to advocate through letter writing and public service announcements for renewable energy sources to be properly funded for use in schools, businesses as well as their homes. This generation will be the ones to help make a difference and save our planet and make it a clean, healthy place for all!
