Science should be as exciting in the classroom as it is for scientists in the lab. I teach 23 curious 2nd graders in a Title 1 school. Over 70% of our students are below the poverty level.
My students love everything to do with science. Unfortunately our 2nd grade science tubs are designed more for 5th graders than my 2nd graders. My 2nd graders will love exploring science with these resources and learn much more with these hand on activities and games than completing worksheets.
They will display their knowledge of the science we are learning with the magnetic Diagram It! Science boards. By labeling the parts of a bee, a flower, a volcano and the water cycle I will be able to assess their knowledge. The Science Quiz Game Show will be a fun way to both assess and learn science facts in a whole group setting. This pocket chart game show is set up like Jeopardy and the students will learn while they play a game. The two Can Do! games on Matter and Animals will allow them to continue learning during center time while also playing a game.
