Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Career and College Exploration so The Game of Life theme is perfect as students learn basic skills to help them choose a career, college and learn those very important adult skills like how to handle your finances. We need dice, erasers, snacks and more. My students use mini flashlights on Fridays while reading a book to practice their reading skills and use pillows to work on group projects and posters on the floor. I am stepping away from technology this year and having students write their notes so they can work on their handwriting skills...something that was lacking last year. My students know I have a drawer full of snacks for them when they have to stay afterschool for practices or tutoring. I love Disney so I always sprinkle in Disney magic and celebrate every birthday Disney style.
