My Students

I'm pleased to introduce you to the Dewdrop Buttercups! My sweet and energetic class of 6, 7, and 8 year olds have aptly decided on Dewdrop Buttercups as our class name this year. We are a happy class of learners and a caring and empathetic group of children. Here, students are encouraged to learn not only about traditional academic subjects but also focus on empathy and relationships as important pieces of children who will grow up to be out of the box thinkers and leaders.

Students in our class come from all walks of life and bring a range of wonderful differences to our room.

As a charter school, we have students from all over San Diego and the richness of diversity in our classroom creates a unique fabric of learners. We celebrate students individual learning journeys and delight in the differences that make all of us unique.

I hope you'll donate to our project and help us continue to grow in our unique ways! Sending thanks and love your way!

My Project

We believe in students exploring their learning through hands-on science, art and social studies experiences. We are a project-based learning school and work hard to bring our unique world to life for our students in the classroom. This year we will be learning about artists and art history, ocean animal adaptations and the changing earth.

Creating deep understanding for students means giving them hands-on experiences.

In order to do this, I need to make my classroom a place that immerses children in the concepts we are studying. Each theme requires unique supplies that enrich learning.

Materials such as geodes to crack open, microscopes for closely investigating, earth models, posters of artistic inspiration and puzzles to challenge students will all make these types of experiences possible for my students. We conclude each unit of study with a project night where we showcase our learning. Using a laminator will help my students make their finished projects have a published feel to them. The materials I have chosen will help my students grow and explore new and exciting concepts in science, social studies and art, and give them the supplies and tools they need to create quality finished products
