My Project
What I love most about my middle school Special Education students is their perseverance and heart. Each of them learns in a unique way, and despite the challenges they face, they show up every day ready to try again. They’re curious, kind, and incredibly capable when given the right tools and support.
The resources I’m requesting will help meet my students’ individual learning needs and create a classroom environment where every child can thrive.
For example:
Hands-on materials like manipulatives and sensory tools will help my students stay focused, engaged, and better able to understand key concepts in math and reading.
Flexible seating will give students the opportunity to choose a workspace that helps them feel comfortable and in control—so important for kids with ADHD, anxiety, or sensory processing differences.
Technology supports like headphones and learning apps will allow for individualized instruction, helping each student learn at their own pace and in their own way.
High-interest, low-level books will give my students access to stories they want to read—books that reflect their interests and experiences while still supporting their reading development.
Metal storage cabinets are also a critical need for our new classroom space, so that we can safely organize learning materials, sensory tools, and student supplies in a way that keeps our room calm, clutter-free, and accessible for all learners.
These resources will not only support academic growth, but also help build confidence, independence, and joy in learning. With your support, I can give my students what they need to feel successful and excited to come to school each day. Thank you for believing in them!
