My Students
Allow us to explore the wonders of the world through non-fiction, imagination sparking books!
My students attend a Montessori Charter School in Pennsylvania.
The majority of my students come from a low socio-economic background so they do not have all the resources available to them that they need. They are a very imaginative group of 1st-3rd graders who question and wonder about every aspect of our world. They will be ecstatic to receive these non-fiction readers that allow them to further learn about aspects of the world around them that they may not be able to experience.
My Project
These non-fiction readers will allow students to explore the world around them as they learn to read and analyze informational text. We do not have a lot of non-fiction books at our school but it is extremely important for them to experience these topics through reading if they can not do so in their lives. My students will be able to develop background knowledge to become well rounded, independent thinkers.
As most of my students come from a low socio-economic area, they are extremely appreciative of everything they are able to learn and absorb through books.
My students need the experience of reading about the wonders of our world to further spark their imagination and allow them to question and research.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
