My Students
In September, I will be teaching Pre K in a NYC public school. I will be teaching 13 students and in hopes of instilling a love of learning and exploring through learning centers and play. For many, this will be their first school experience and I hope to develop authentic learning centers that will provide them not only with excitement to come to their class each day, but with authentic learning opportunities. Please help me to create the type of classroom that encourages learning through play and exploration.
My Project
These materials would be amazing for my incoming class. These items would not only reinforce the NYC units for Pre K...but would help to make learning fun and hands-on. My students would learn through play and discovery. The alphabet puppets would be a fun way to introduce letters and sounds. The circle time learning center would help to organize the morning routine helping to make it predictable for the students. It would help to teach the days of the week, weather words, and counting. In addition, many of the items I am requesting will encourage hands-on exploration and would provide an opportunity for conversation and further exploration. The restaurant writing activity would provide the children with real life situations. They would learn their letters and numbers through play by using the tactile letters and numbers. Also, the sensory tubs would be used with the magic water marbles during our water unit and throughout the year too. Please help to provide my incoming students with these amazing materials that will make learning fun and engaging!
