My Students
My students are a very diverse group who would benefit from the opportunity of receiving the necessary supplies that are used in a chemistry lab/classroom. Most of the students that I teach enjoy learning with hands-on activities that teach them how to problem solve and understand the concepts that are covered in a traditional chemistry class.
I teach many students that come from a disadvantaged background, and it is important for them to have the tools they need to be successful.
By providing them with the supplies needed to perform experiments and having the opportunity to use lab equipment in the chemistry lab is crucial to their education.
My Project
These materials will help the students by allowing them to become engaged learners. Students will be actively participating in a hands-on lab experiment to discover the physical and chemical properties of some chemicals and everyday items found in the home. This will be an opportunity for students to take an active role in the learning process and acquire the knowledge that is necessary to become proficient in chemistry and prepare for college. The pencil sharpener, pencils, and Chemkits will make a difference in the lives of these students who would be very appreciative in receiving equipment to further their education and enhance their learning.
