My Students
Did you ever see a picture of a faraway place when you were young and be amazed by its beauty and splendor? Help my students open their eyes to the world around them with TIME For Kids magazine.
My students attend a low income, Title I school with free lunch.
Many of the families struggle with helping their children on schoolwork and the only times they are able to read are at school. These creative and eager minds want to soak up as much as they can while they are in the classrooms, and you can help by supporting our cause to get TIME For Kids in our classroom.
My Project
TIME For Kids is a magazine filled with non-fiction articles and pictures that brings the world to life! My students would be exposed to expository writing about real life and current events. Imagine all the rich discussions that will pour forth as students scour the pages of their own magazines each month that they will be able to keep. With the subscriptions, I would be able to receive access to extra resources such as quizzes, worksheets, and more online.
My students have few resources to expose them to the world outside their communities.
TIME For Kids magazines would help open a door to the world around them. There is very little rich text in our current curriculum that is so up to date and informative to help prepare them to be worldly thinkers. This resource could change the way my students view their life and allow me to teach them to be better readers.
