Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year's students are a fun loving bunch, eager to learn and appreciate experiences that make learning exciting. Our students come from a very diverse neighborhood and need all opportunities that will bring subjects to life.
They are curious and learn through all their senses.
Our students love movement and song. They get involved in projects and can be easily engaged in academic activities. Our school has a great focus hands on activities to help inspire and move students forward.
My Project
Math is so much fun when students can direct their own learning. A rich mathematical experience requires manipulatives and games.
Students are able to learn so much when they are afforded opportunities not just to practice but to make discoveries in their learning experience.
When provided with the right tools and experiences, students are able to make connections and retain what they've learned because of the practice and active interaction with each other and the hands on opportunities with the games like Bingo and the Math Write and Wipe material in the classroom.
Using these materials, students problem solve, engage with each other and discover themselves as learners.
