Experiencing Inheritance With Corn

My Project

In our studies about genetics and inheritance, corn is a great way for students to see how genes are passed on to successive generations.

With this kit, students will be able to experience two monohybrid crosses by seeing different single traits (kernel color and kernel shape), as well as a dihybrid cross in which students can see a cross between both kernel color and shape.

Each kernel is a fertilization event making it easier for students to see how making Punnett squares are great tools for identifying probabilities of genotypes and phenotypes of offspring generations.
