My students and I have embarked on a distance learning journey that has been rather difficult. We are using ClassDojo, email, texting, and Zoom to continue their learning experience. In addition, I record videos, take pictures and post, email/text for them to view, and continue to enhance their education. I'm happy that most families are trying, though parents are essential workers or are working from home.
My Project
These materials will help me to teach my students by setting up a remote classroom with equipment big enough for me to write on so students can see over computer. I will use the book kits to read stories and act out on the board to enhance the story visually for differentiated learning. My students love read alouds; it helps them to increase their vocabulary, teaches them social skills-how to sit quietly and listen to a story, to respond when asked, how to listen to others when they're speaking, etcetera. Though I can only see my students via Zoom, texts, and pictures, I still enjoy teaching them and giving them the experience of learning in this new normal as much as possible.
