My Students

Time traveling into our United States history isn't only exciting, but educational as well! Imagine stepping out of the Magic Treehouse during the Revolutionary War? meeting the Pilgrims or Honest Abe? The Magic Tree House books and a netbook can make this possible for my students!

Most of my third-graders have already attended at least one other school in the state.

Many have recently relocated to Florida from another state, some from another country. Because our school has such a large percentage of families who qualify for free or reduced lunch, we receive Title 1 funding.

My Project

Students find The Magic Treehouse books imaginative and exciting. As a teacher, I find that Magic Treehouse books provide engaging chapter books at a reading level that is accessible by all. It's a win-win! Students will be practicing their reading skills while building on their knowledge of US History. A net book will allow pairs of students to research and create presentations about the things they learn while on their journey with Jack and Annie.

Donations to this project will make a difference this year and years to come as students utilize these materials to help keep important events in history alive in their minds.

All too often Social Studies is overlooked. Combining accessible fiction and non fiction books with history is a natural partnership that will benefit the whole child.
