My Students

I work at an IB charter school and I am excited to be working here at a school that has been around for 12 years. Our school strives to do hands on inquiry based teaching with our students. At our school we are striving to teach them to be independent learners that go out in the world and help to make a difference in the world.

As a teacher I am striving to help my students in any way that I can to be not only confident in themselves but to be positive with each other and help in building a great classroom environment.

I hope that they will take the ideas they learn in the classroom and apply in to their own learning and continually strive to ask questions and drive with those questions to find their answers.

My Project

My class is in a portable classroom this year and we are in different times with things going on within the world. I want to help give my students ways to grow in their learning in different ways through different seating and getting tools that can also help grow their learning as I meet with them in small groups. My class is smart and hardworking students that apply their knowledge in all that they do and I want to help expand that even more and help in giving them as many resources to do that.

The standing desk will be used to help those that need moving around the classroom and the wiggle feet cushions to help students have movement within their seats.

The Expo Markers and whiteboard will be used for small group activities to help do more hands-on learning and to have a doc camera to use in the classroom to help with projecting things up on to the board. Magnet kit will be used to help in our science curriculum as well as for learning within the classroom for small groups. The wind chime will help in our transition time and the phones will help with reading for our small groups. A lot of these materials will help in our small groups for reading.
