Help me give my students an opportunity engage in critical thinking about world events by providing books.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Ellis's classroom raised $925
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is the second part of the project to ensure that every child gets a book. The materials that I am requesting through this project is a copy per child of Anthony Doerr's Pulitzer Prize winning novel All the Light We Cannot See. This project will allow all students, regardless of economic need, to have a personal copy of the text to take home, read, and analyze.
In doing so, my students will be able to engage with world history at a level that encourages critical thinking and empathy.
Because of the impact of this text, this teaching unit, connected to All the Light We Cannot See, will make an impact that transcend beyond the classroom walls.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
