This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teaching TK in a dual immersion school has taught me that visuals are needed in order for students to grow. I need to make sure that I have the materials in order to provide my students with what they need. Most of my students have never been to school before and don't know how to hold a pencil, nonetheless write their names. The products I chose will help me enhance their learning and understanding.
Nurturing their curiosity through different activities is pivotal for that age group.
TK is an age when children begin to be independent and begin to explore. As a new teacher, I don't have many books. Reading books that my students are familiar with will help them be engaged and at the same time provide a sense of familiarity in school. Books bring out curiosity in children and also help them begin to understand concepts of print. I also added book bins to the cart so I can place them on the tables. They can familiarize themselves with books and though they don't know how to read, they learn how to treat books and how they should take care of the things in the classroom.
