Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are full of energy, curiosity, and determination. As part of a Title 1 migrant community, many of them face challenges beyond the classroom, but they still come to school eager to learn, explore, and succeed. They inspire me everyday with their passion for discovering new things and their ability to see the world as full of wonder.

These additional bins will help my students by expanding the forward-facing book displays that have already made a huge difference in our library.

With more bins, we can showcase more books!

Thank to the incredible support from our first project, our library is making a difference! Our beloved space is more vibrant and organized. When books are organized, visible, and forward-facing students feel confident choosing what interests them. Students are drawn to the colorful covers that are displayed like works of art waiting to be discovered. We have found that students are strengthening their independence and love of reading. They are taking ownership of their learning journey and we need to keep the momentum going! Just as their excitement around reading has grown, so has our need for more flexible shelving to keep up with the enthusiasm.

This project will allow us to add additional bins so we can expand our collection displayed for easy browsing. More bins means we can feature a wider variety of topics, stories, and reading levels. With your help, we can continue to build a place where are students can experience the magic of books.
