This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Providing my students with diverse, relevant, and engaging biographies will transform their learning by broadening their understanding of the world, making learning relatable, and sparking their curiosity. Our goal is to create an inclusive library where every student feels seen and inspired, fostering empathy, critical thinking, and a sense of empowerment. Our library, now 25 years old, contains many books that have not been checked out in years, some since its inception, due to a lack of relevance and engaging content. Our students are special because of their unique blend of curiosity, resilience, and potential. They deserve to see themselves reflected in their education and to be inspired by diverse, relevant biographies that showcase the stories of others.
