Expanding Our Vocabulary Through Games and Literature!

Help me give my students vocabulary games, vocabulary resources, and novel texts to expand their English vocabulary!!!

My Project

My students are awesome. They are English Language Learners that are developing their English proficiency. They are eager to learn new words and skills that will improve their social and literacy development.

The literary texts and games that I am requesting will assist in my students' language acquisition.

I am asking for three books written by Chris Van Allsburg. The Sweetest Fig, The Wretched Stone, and The Stranger. Each story provides multiple meaning vocabulary words that I can use throughout many subjects and genres.

I am also asking for vocabulary games that will help my students practice vocabulary skills during independent learning, small group learning, and literacy centers. It is important for English learners to have varied opportunities to practice their skills and these games will give them those opportunities.

Lastly, I would also like to request teaching resources that will help my students understand new vocabulary words. The Vocabulary Comic resources give my students another way of seeing new vocabulary words used in a fun and interesting way. Students need to read words in a variety of methods and comics are a fun way to be introduced to new vocabulary.
