Help me give my students the experience of keeping bees and helping our pollinator population expand!

My Project
Although I am creating this project with my current fourth graders in mind, it has the potential to be used across grade levels to increase the number of pollinators in our school ecosystem outside of our back doors. Fourth grade has planted numerous plants in our raised beds that have not done well because we are lacking pollinators, according to our Pollinator Census data. Students would be planting butterfly bushes to create a monarch layover station, bringing in bees to our hive with a local beekeeper, and comparing our data to hand pollination in the Hydroponics lab. 5th grade will be taking 4th grade’s August Pollinator Data and comparing it in May during the “spring” season along with handling the hand pollination during their genetics/cells unit. Our Project Soar students are also hoping that an increase in our pollinators will bring more bats into our Bat Habitat that they began 3-4 years ago so students in kindergarten-fifth grade will be able to observe the bats, create digital posters/marketing to protect the endangered species, and graph different data using the school ecosystem.
I do not know of many elementary students who are so invested in pollinators and seeing their plants grow.
We are one of few schools that have a bat habitat right outside our doors along with all of the raised beds, kindergarten's butterfly garden, and so many other ecosystem projects occurring. This project would allow us to improve our pollinators greatly within our ecosystem so students can continue comparing our outdoor raised beds to our hydroponics produce on a more fair scale.
