Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love going to school because they feel safe in a structured classroom. My students thrive when given structures and routines. Many of my students have shared the same class for the past 4-5 years. They are caring friends to one another. My ultimate goal is to create a comfortable, engaging environment for my students to maximize their learning. I am slowly making changes in my classroom to help them feel safe.
All of my students are in the Autism Spectrum and require a lot of accommodations to make it through the day successfully.
They are eager to learn and show great pride in their work when they see their progress.
My Project
My students love spending "Quiet Time" in our library. They love to read books for pleasure and these multicultural books will expand our library. It is important for me to have a diverse selection of books because I have a diverse group of students!
I will also use the classroom divider to help my students focus on the task at hand.
This will help by separating our classroom into different learning areas.
Lastly, students will love the sensory tools. They will be able to use these during their preferred time.
