I need want to go to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Centennial Annual Meeting and Exposition in Chicago for a professional development on April 1st - April 5th.
My students are 5 and 6-year-olds who attend a Title I school. We are a Title I school because 80% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students come from low-income families, where there is often only one parent working in the household and my families are non-English-speakers.
Even though my students come from a low economic environment, they are still very eager to learn.
My students are really curious about everything that comes into our classroom and they enjoy learning and exploring, especially when I have exciting things to share.
My Project
When I attend the NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition Conference, I will learn about new hands-on activities, new textbooks, and new ideas to teach math to my students.
This conference will help me expand my knowledge in Math and open my mind to new ideas to help my students learn in different ways.
I know when I stay on top of my learning my students become more knowledgeable about the ways they should learn how to solve mathematical problems. Also, I will be able to buy new materials and use them with my students.
Please consider giving to my class project so I can expand my knowledge of Math.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
