This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom library is a focal point in our classroom. As part of our classroom routine, the first thing my students do is find a book they want to read, grab a cozy spot and spend 5 minutes reading as everyone settles in. My students come to me for specialized academic instruction from different classrooms and allowing for a quick 5 minutes of reading ensures that all my students are able to get settled and get into that “just right” place where learning can happen.
Students need to find ways to enjoy reading - one of the ways they can do this is by having an inviting and cozy place in our classroom to read.
