My Project
This upcoming school year, I want to introduce my students to the world beyond our Florida classroom. It’s important that they learn about the cultural, historic, and scientific events happening across the United States and around the globe. However, the vocabulary and complexity of traditional newspapers often make current events hard for elementary students to understand. To help bridge that gap, I would love to bring TIME for Kids Weekly Magazine into our classroom. This kid-friendly, developmentally appropriate news source will allow my students to explore real-world topics in a way that is accessible, engaging, and educational.
Reading about current events helps students understand their role in a community — locally, nationally, and globally.
With TIME for Kids, each student will receive their own weekly nonfiction magazine, filled with rich vocabulary, colorful illustrations, and high-interest articles. These magazines offer opportunities to practice nonfiction reading skills, build knowledge of the world, and have meaningful discussions with classmates.
There are so many benefits to bringing TIME for Kids into our classroom. Please help my students stay informed, inspired, and connected to the world around them!
